Last updated: October 2026
This notice explains what personal data Suvarna Jodi collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It is written in plain language as required by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
1. Who we are (your Data Fiduciary)
Suvarna Jodi is the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described in this notice. We operate this matrimony website and decide how your personal data is used. We are located in India.
- Contact number: +91 9284799079
- Email: sumati.eti@gmail.com
- Website: Suvarna Jodi
We are a self-service matrimony platform. We do not act as a marriage bureau, we do not assign matchmakers, and we do not contact members or families on a member's behalf.
2. Who this notice covers
This notice covers every visitor, registered member and former member of this website. You must be at least 18 years old to register or use this service. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us and we will delete the account.
3. What personal data we collect, and why
We collect only the data we need, for the purposes listed against it.
- Identity and contact data — name, mobile number, email address. Purpose: to create and sign you in to your account, verify your mobile number, and send you service messages such as plan receipts and expiry reminders.
- Profile and family data — date of birth, height, weight, body type, complexion, marital status, mother’s and father’s names, siblings, family details, education, occupation, income, religion, caste, community, nationality, location, and the partner preferences you set. Purpose: to build your public profile and to let other members search and filter profiles using the fields you chose to publish.
- Photographs and optional ID documents — profile photos, and an ID proof if you choose to use our optional verification. Purpose: to display your profile and, only if you opt in, to mark your profile as verified.
- Connection and messaging data — the profiles you view, the connection requests you send or receive, your responses, and the messages you exchange with connected members. Purpose: to operate connections and private chat, and to let you and the other member confirm a connection.
- Subscription and payment data — the plan you buy, the amount, invoice reference, payment status, and the paid-until date. Purpose: to process your payment, grant you the plan period you paid for, and keep a tax record. We do not store your card number, CVV or bank account password; card details are entered on the payment gateway’s own secure page.
- Technical and security data — IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, timestamps, session cookie, and login records. Purpose: to keep the service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and diagnose errors.
- Moderation data — the contents of a misuse report you file, any evidence you attach, and any restriction we apply to an account. Purpose: to investigate complaints, protect other members, and enforce our Terms of Service.
4. How we use your data, and on what basis
We process personal data only for the purposes listed in section 3, and we rely on:
- Your consent — given when you register, upload a document, or send a connection request.
- Performance of a contract — to provide the membership period you paid for, and to let you use search, connections and chat.
- Compliance with law — to meet tax, accounting and lawful-order obligations, and to keep records of blocking and moderation decisions.
- Our legitimate interests — limited to security, fraud prevention, and improving platform reliability, after balancing them against your interests.
We do not use your data for targeted advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
5. Consent and withdrawing consent
Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time. To withdraw consent, stop the activity that needs it — for example, delete an uploaded ID document, or ask us to remove a photograph — or contact us using the details in section 13. Withdrawal does not affect processing that happened lawfully before you withdrew it. Some data we must keep even after you withdraw, for example payment and invoice records, which we are required to retain by law.
6. What stays private between members
Your mobile number, email address, address, income and any ID document are never displayed publicly. Other members see masked contact details. Your real contact details become visible to a member only after you and that member both accept a connection request. Until both of you accept, neither side can see the other side's contact details.
After that, sharing and communicating is your own decision. We are not a party to any conversation that happens outside our platform. Please report misuse instead of confronting anyone, and meet in public places.
7. Optional ID verification
ID verification is optional. Profiles are searchable, can connect, and can chat without it. If you choose to verify, you upload an ID document, and a verified badge is shown on your profile. The document is used only to confirm your identity, is not shown to other members, and is not used to score or rank you. You may request deletion of your document at any time, after which the verification status is removed from your profile.
8. Who we share your data with
We share only the minimum data needed, for these specific purposes:
- Payment processors — a payment gateway processes your plan payment. It receives the amount, your email address and phone number, and the payment result. It does not receive your profile details or ID documents.
- Email delivery provider — our email service delivers OTP codes, receipts, expiry reminders and account notices, and receives your email address and the content of those messages.
- Website hosting — our hosting provider stores the website files and database, and therefore has technical access to the data described in this notice, under our instructions and for hosting purposes only.
- Law enforcement or courts — we may disclose the minimum data necessary where we receive a lawful order, or where necessary to prevent an offence such as fraud, stalking or impersonation.
We do not share your contact details with other members except through the mutual-consent process in section 6. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We do not share ID documents with anyone.
9. How long we keep your data
We keep personal data only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for. In practice:
- While your account is active — profile, connections and messages are kept so the service works.
- After you close your account &mdash> we delete or anonymise your profile, photographs and messages.
- Payment and invoice records — kept for the period required by tax and accounting law.
- ID documents — deleted on your request, or once verification is no longer needed.
- Security, blocking and moderation logs — kept for a limited period so we can investigate abuse and honour a lawful order, then deleted.
10. Your rights
Subject to the Act, you have the right to:
- Access — ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction and erasure — ask us to correct inaccurate data, or to delete data we no longer have a lawful reason to keep.
- Nomination — nominate a person who can exercise your rights if you are unable to.
- Withdraw consent — at any time, as described in section 5.
- Grievance redressal — have your complaint investigated, as described in section 11.
- Complain to the authority — lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India, as described in section 12.
You can exercise most of these rights yourself by editing your profile. For anything else, contact us using the details in section 13 and we will verify your identity first, so that nobody can act on your account by pretending to be you.
11. Grievance officer
If you have a complaint about how we handled your personal data, contact our grievance officer:
- Email: sumati.eti@gmail.com
- Phone: +91 9284799079
You can also use the Report Misuse page or the contact page. We acknowledge your grievance and respond to you within 30 days. Please describe the issue and the account or profile it concerns so we can investigate it properly.
12. Data Protection Board of India
If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India, the authority established under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Details of how to lodge a complaint are published by the Board on its official website.
13. How we protect your data
Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes and are never readable, even by us. Database access uses prepared statements, access is restricted to people who need it, and uploaded documents are stored outside the public web folder and are served through a private, logged, access-controlled route. We use secure sessions and protect pages that require a login. No online service is completely risk-free, so please choose a unique password and tell us immediately if you think your account has been accessed by someone else.
14. Data stored outside India
Some of the service providers listed in section 8, such as the payment gateway and the email delivery provider, operate outside India. Your data may therefore be processed in another country for those limited purposes, under the provider’s own security and privacy commitments. We do not transfer your data to any other country, and we do not allow any provider to use it for its own purposes.
15. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice when the service or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be announced on the website or sent to your registered email address. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the revised notice.
16. Contact
For any privacy question, access request, or complaint, contact Suvarna Jodi on +91 9284799079 or email sumati.eti@gmail.com, or use the contact page.
